Hillsboro High School senior Grant Knoll signed a letter of intent Nov. 19 to run cross country and track and field at Emporia State University next year. Knoll didn t compete in cross country at HHS, but in track and field placed 11th in the Class 2A 3,200 meters and seventh in the 1,600 as a junior this spring. Cross country will be a new endeavor for him, but I am confident that his ability and dedication as a distance runner will translate into success as a cross-county competitor, said Dennis Boldt, HHS track and field coach. He has not yet reached his potential and our coaching staff looks forward to an outstanding senior season.
